FAQ - Classes
We’ll jump right into making your piece and you’ll learn the full copper foil method from start to finish. All glass, materials, and tools are included. You’ll leave with a finished piece—usually a small suncatcher—or, if you’d like, I can also teach you how to make stained glass tulips or roses.
Can I bring a guest?
-
One-on-one classes are always best but there is space for another person if you want to do a private session with a friend. $250 for 5 hours for one person $450/5 hours for two people.
What if I am pregnant?
-
There’s some debate in the stained glass world about whether it’s safe to work with while pregnant. I personally err on the side of caution. Even with proper ventilation and my air extractors running, the process still involves lead solder, fumes, and a few harsh chemicals, so I don’t feel comfortable recommending classes during pregnancy. It’s a beautiful craft, but there’s some gritty behind-the-scenes stuff involved.
What should I prepare to bring?

Design Prep
-
To make sure you leave with something you truly love, please come with a simple design prepared.
-
This can be:
-
A quick Sharpie sketch on paper
-
A printed design
-
Black lines on a white background (coloring-book style) work best. If you email it to me ahead of time, I’m happy to print it for you.
-
Design Guidelines
-
Smaller than a standard letter-size sheet
-
Around 10 total shapes is ideal
-
Straight lines are easiest (curves are totally welcome)
-
Larger pieces are best—avoid shapes smaller than ~1.5" × 1.5"
-
For context: a past lesson with ~20 shapes took about 7 hours—gorgeous result, but very time-intensive
What should I wear?
-
Closed-toe shoes (standing is recommended during cutting)
-
Long sleeves and jeans—it can get a little messy
-
No jewelry on hands or wrists
-
Glasses, if you wear them
